  • CostNo charge for individuals seeking to renew their previously expired Nurse Aide Certification in New York State. However, candidates will need to cover the NYS testing fee of $125 for recertification.

About UVMHN – The Alice Center

The Alice Center is Alice Hyde Medical Center’s new skilled nursing care and assisted living facility. The brand new facility opened in April 2015, and is the first of its kind in the region. The new facility provides advanced skilled nursing and rehabilitative care while providing residents with a homelike atmosphere designed to promote privacy and dignity. The two building complex contains 135 skilled nursing beds, and 30 assisted living beds.

The Skilled Nursing Facility offers 24 hour nursing services and a full range of rehabilitation services in a caring, home like environment. The Alice Center can serve up to 135 individuals in need of long-term or short-term care. The facility is divided into 6 separate “neighborhoods” that feature homelike kitchens and dining rooms, large living rooms, and ample social spaces.  Rooms are either private or semi-private, and contain their own private bathrooms.

The Alice Center’s Skilled Nursing Facility offers 24 hour nursing services and a full range of rehabilitation services in a caring, home-like environment.  The Alice Center can serve up to 135 individuals in need of long-term or short-term care.  We provide the highest quality skilled nursing care in an environment that promotes privacy and dignity.

The Alice Center is divided into six separate “neighborhoods” that each feature their own home-like kitchens and dining rooms, large living rooms, and ample social spaces.  Each resident room is either private or semi-private, and contains a private bathroom and shower. Services provided at the SNF include:

  • Primary Care services provided in-house
  • Opportunities for residents and families to play an active role in their health care
  • Wide variety of leisure activities
  • In-house beauty salon provides services for residents at affordable prices

The Assisted Living Program is a new program offering a full range of personalized services.  The program can serve up to 30 individuals who are medically eligible for placement in a nursing home, yet due to a stable medical condition, can be cared for in an environment which fosters greater independence. Residents of the Assisted Living Program can expect a private room, and private full bathroom with a shower.  There is also a homelike kitchen and dining room, and a comfortable, stylish living room.

The Assisted Living Program at The Alice Center serves up to 30 individuals who are medically eligible for placement in a nursing home, yet due to a stable medical condition, can be cared for in an environment which fosters greater independence.

At The Alice Center’s Assisted Living Program, our commitment to our residents and their families is to provide a warm, supportive, home-like environment that respects each individual and their needs.  We are committed to providing an environment that optimizes health and quality of live for each resident by providing individualized care and allowing residents to maintain independence.  Our caring and trusted staff understands that every senior has unique needs and our respect for each resident’s individuality is at the center of all that we do.
